I am currently working at a good foreign bank for the last 7 yrs, with total work experience of about 10+ years in the banking industry. In order to further enhance my academic qualifications along with future career growth prospects, I am looking to do another MBA in Venture Capital & Entrepreneurship, a new field for the Pakistani financial market. In this regard I have coupe of queries:
1. I have heard Fulbright scholarship is preferable for MBA prgrams as these are more expensive compared to others.
2. Will it be OK if I have all three of my referrals done from work instead of a professor, since it has been a long time since I graduated and I am not sure I will be able to arrange one from a teacher.
Thanks.

1) Fulbright Scholarship is preferable for any graduate studies. However If I understand your question properly, then I believe you mean it is particularly more beneficial for those who wants to do MBA as business school fees is usually more expensive than others. If that is the case I agree with you that its hard to pay tuition fees for MBA out of pocket. Usually people get loans or their company sponsor MBAs.
2) Yes, it should be fine however university prefer having a mix of both. They want to see how good you can do academically and usually for that they request academic reference but its not obligatory. If you have a good academic background that should do the work.
Best of luck with your application.
1.) Like Younas stated, Fulbright Scholarship applies to anyone who aspires to obtain an MS,PhD or an MBA degree from USA. As far as I know, there is no obvious preference of MBA over MS or PhD. But I do agree that since MBAs are expensive more often than not, it is definitely a good opportunity to avail the scholarship.
2.)Keep in mind that at least one letter MUST be academic. Its better to get more academic references from good professors since they are better judges to evaluate your academic capabilities .These letters provide the evaluators better information to judge your academic standing and compare it against the other applicants.
Remember that Fulbright is very competitive. Even if you are going for an MBA, you must work hard to get good GRE and GMAT scores. Both are required! Also the letters of references and the personal statement must be taken very seriously since both are one of the major deciding factors.
Cheers!
In addition to what Younas and Aman have previously said you should make sure that your recommendations are stellar and detailed. It is better to get recommendations from direct managers, who have worked with you and know you well, instead of very senior people who only know you by name or face. For the Fulbright application it would be good to have an academic recommendation. However, business schools themselves prefer work recommendations over academic ones so that they can have a better insight on your managerial abilities and professional achievements. If (and I hope you do) get the Fulbright scholarship for the MBA program, you can always ask them to only send your professional recommendations for actual college applications.
Also, the Fulbright is concerned with the positive contribution you will make to Pakistan upon your return. You should clearly illustrate this in your personal statement, by tying in the MBA with your future goals.
Hope this helps!
