i have a friend who is a visiting faculty member of KU actuarial science department. He told me its better not to do actuarial sciences from KU, instead check out the BSc in mathematics and economics being offered by the LSE international program.

Hello everyone,
My name is Intisar and I am an Actuarial Science major at Drake University in U.S. I see a lot of questions here are asking the same thing. My simple suggestion for you is this. As long as you have Mathematics as your subject, and you are VERY good at it, then Actuarial Science is a career always open for you. Becoming an actuary requires passing exams. University degrees that you hear of are not be confused with. They help you take courses which cover most of the exam curriculum.
If you apply in U.K, some universities have high standards and expect at least 3 A’s in A levels, and a MUST A in Maths.. (Further Maths is highly desirable)
For U.S, you just have to gain admission to a University. They dont admit you on basis of your achievements in a particular area or subject. If you get admitted and asked for a desired major then you can select and start off with Actuarial Science.
It is a very very hard field of study. The drop out rate is very high, and the best advice I can give you is that before entering in this path DO meet an Actuary and it is highly desirable that you take up an internship alongside an Actuary.
Research is always the biggest help.

Actuarial Science is not required to be an Actuary, you can do BBA, Finance & Accounting, Mathematics etc. Well, if you wanna do Actuarial Science in Pakistan then Institute of Business Management(IoBM/CBM) is better.

My name is Mohammad Abid and I am currently studying at BeaconHouse Shcool System

I am currently in my first year of(class 9) O levels. Subjects that I have are: BIology, physics, chemistry, sociology(optional subject) and 5 other subjects that are compulsury.

Choosing a career is the most important step. Ive deecided to change my subject like from biology to Cumputer stidies.

My queries include:
1)shoul i change biology to cumperstudies
2)Is Add math(optional subject) is important/necessary for cumpterstudies.
3)What scope does it have in pakistan or abraod and which field should i prefer?
4)How much financial aid is available( especially in london)
