My Dear High School Students,
Please narrow your focus by first completing UNDERGRADUATE studies instead of thinking about MBA. Like Matric/Olevels is a pre-requisite of FSC/ALEVELS, similarly, completing undergrad is a first step to take you towards graduate school. You're wasting your time and effort by posting lengthy queries relating to grad school knowing the fact that you're still in highschool. For more information about good undergraduate schools, go to

http://colleges.usnews.rankingsandreviews.com/usnews/edu/college/rankings/rankindex_brief.php

and browse the category you're interested in. This will make your life easier to know the details of universities and their requirements.

Cheers,

One piece of advice, use this summer break to prepare for your SATs. Study on your own or take tuitions, do whatever you have to do, but try and be ready to give your SATs (or even have already attempted once) by the time your school re-opens in August.

After that you'll know where u stand and can pick schools accordingly.

Hope that helps.

Shahrukh,

I agree with Younas, it's just too early to be planning about grad school. A lot of high school students in Pakistan often do not know that they cannot even be considered for admission into a reputed MBA program unless they have atleast 2 years of work experience after their undergrad. Average work experience of students in the top 20 mba schools in the US is 4-5 years.

With that said, I'm going to rephrase your question and try to answer it. You basically need to know how to get into a good business school program for your undergrad studies. Look at this list which gives you the list of top US business schools http://bwnt.businessweek.com/bschools/undergraduate/07rankings/

All of them require SAT1 and SAT II with 2 subjects (one math and one sciences) but you'll need to research the schools you're interested in. I don't know about LSE, but I'm sure none of these schools really care about what subjects you took in your Alevels. It's going to be mostly about your SATs, your extra curricular activities, application essays and your transcripts. Your scholarship is also dependent on those factors.

The decision to go for either MBA or ME can be delayed for another 5 years (or more) until you finish your bachelors.

Shahrukh,

I believe its a bit too early for you to worry about MBA school. Usually people go for Masters or MBA for following reason.

1) They want to change a career and usually MBA provides with such an opportunity by helping them to go to management level positions.
2) People want to settle in another country and usually the best and easiest way to go about is by doing a postgraduate degree from there. Countries like UK, US and Canada then provides an initial work permit that let you stay over there and find a job.
3) The third reason to go for Masters is that someone later in their undergraduate realize an interest in a particular field. They then feel an urge that they should learn more about that field and specialize in it.

Since you are in your A Levels, I would advise you that if feel strong about any particular area such as marketing, advertising, management etc then concentrate on that field right from your bachelors degree. One doesn't need to have an MBA degree of a Masters degree to be successful in their career. You can achieve the same by working hard in your bachelors.
