Is MBA from Sweden worth it?

Hi,

Many people who have financial problem go to Sweden for masters as it is free of cost and there is no tuition fee.

Is it worth it? What are the future prospects with MBA from sweden?

Which universities are good?

Hmm .. I believe it really depends how you define success.

If you want to get an experience of living abroad and get foreign education/degree than MBA from a good Sweden University can help you get that experience. Having a degree from a foreign country is something that is appreciated by employers. In the end what all matters is how much you have learned through what you have been taught and how you can use your experience to provide value to the company you work for.

One drawback of doing an MBA from Sweden is that there is a slight chance of getting a job in Sweden because very few employers give work permit.

Let me know if you have any questions.

    Thanks,

    Muhammad Younas

    thanks

I already have a US engineering degree and I have expereince of living abroad so foreign degree is not an issue for me

U said that employers like foreign degree…but employers in pakistan did not offer me job even after having US degreee

so sweden is still good for me ???

Imran, this is your 3rd post stating your issue. i am sorry to hear what you have been going through. I thought it was easier to land into telecom jobs in pakistan these days.

To make things clear for everyone here…why dont you post your profile? can you please tell the university you graduated from? your cgpa? your SATS? your exact degree? did you ever intern/work in US? High School?

my point being that i would never recommend going to a crap school abroad(spending loads of money)just for the heck of it.. because you wont be able to properly cash your foreign degree… i think its just not a good idea..

    Thanks jahanzeb

I have done BSc Electrical engineering from Southern Illinois university carbondale with concentration in telecom. My CGPA was 3.33/4.00

I have no expereice…. I just came back to pakistan after graduation and wanted to work in pakistan which was a blunder

I thought telecom people will hire me

I had aroung 30+ interviews but invain…some said I have no confidence …some said I will run back…

    Disappointing story yaar

    Dear Jehanzeb,

I was reading your profile. Are you the one with fulbright scholarship?

IF YES, I have following queries:

1.I am on fulbright/USAID(NOT HEC), can i go to some other country after completing my degree. since my family is moving to austraila, so it would be very difficult to survive in pakistan after my return

    2. what are the chances of me working in USA after completing my MASTERS on fulbright?

I would appreciate if you could provide me your email address.

    regards

    salman.

    Salman,

    1) Yes, you can definitely go to any other country and work anywhere else in the world apart from US(on H1-B) unless you have completed your 2 year home residency rule.

    2) Fulbright doesn’t encourage that. You may have a hard time getting a job offer given that companies don’t like J1 that much(it has nothing to do with how good you are). Even if you get an offer, you may have a hard time getting an approval for an Academic Training(AT) from IIE. Even if you get an approval, you can work in US only for a limited time period.

    >>I would appreciate if you could provide me your email address.

Kindly email me at consultant@pkstudent.com and ATTN: my name.. it will be forwarded to me and we take it from there..

yea i have a friend who went to carbondale.. but studied political science there…so no idea how their telecom program is rated.

You might want to go for a grad degree..and look for a job in the meantime..
