Currently i am pursuing my BBA from FAST-NU lahore, but i not not that satisfied from the quality of education and the environment they are providing us. I know i am able to study efficiently and i am also told by my instructors that you will go far in your career because i have courage to know. I want to have quality education.
After FA i applied for LUMS and was not accepted because i did not take it seriously to prepare for admission test, thats why i opted for FAST because of my last choice. There are many talented teachers in FAST but i am not fully satisfied because of some reasons:
1. I want to earn a respectful degree
2. Obviously i have talent so i do not want to waste it
Now i have registered for 5th semester in FAST and also the point is that i am on 100% scholarship in FAST.
Now i have too many options from which i have to choose only one.
1. I can transfer my credit hours to USA, UK, AUS
2. I can stay here and pursue CFA with BBA because i am good at finance
3. Do BBA here and also CFA then go for MBA abroad
i have a dream to teach in a university in UK like LSE or London business school. And also want to have handsome pay package.
Now i am preferring to transfer and have no idea at all about this; i am thinking to transfer to Oxford, Cambridge or somewhere else but finances are not supporting me and i am now thinking of scholarship.
so please tell me what to do and when to do, i am waiting for your response.

Hi Kashif,
I have a few thoughts regarding your circumstances.
1.) You are on 100% scholarship in FAST. You should keep in mind that the chance that you get 100% tuition fee if you go abroad is very rare. You may be able to get partial funding.
2.) If you are planning to eventually teach in UK, then it automatically takes Fulbright out of the equation.
3.)Transferring credit hours usually does not work very well. you must keep in mind that you might be spending two or three extra semesters in the foreign university. But that does not really matter if you are in a university that can cater to your brilliance.
4.)In my opinion, the options that you gave do not have to be mutually exclusive. I think that you should apply to universities in UK and US for transfer while continuing your studies here. Meanwhile try to take on both CFA with BBA in your university. If you are able to get admission in a good university and if the financial situation suits you, then you can always leave your CFA/BBA and go abroad. Just try exploring all your options if that’s possible and you can decide later.

but now situation has changed a bit. i prepared for iets and was about to give but my teachers told me to stay here and complete bba with cfa. then i will think to go abroad by full bright. and now i am not thinking to teach at all.
just to get full bright and then come back to open a venture.

Refering to Aman Pervaiz’s post on June 30. He talked about doing CFA with the BBA . I am a student of IBA doing BBA honors third year . I am thinking of giving CFA level 1 exam in december 2010. I wanted to ask that does the CFA’s are needed abroad given the fact that financial turmoil has seriouly inflicted most of the worlds largest Investment Banks. How viable is doing CFA in the present situation.
Secondly whether one should go for MBA after doing CFA if one intends to settle abroad (US) permanently.

Hello, Kashif bhai, its a very old post and i know it but still i want to ask , what happened to all of your problems. The thoughts u gave here are completely same as i have like CFA as i am doing BBA from Comsats aswell and want to switch for some good uni as well! it would be great if u guide me with your experiences.
