I don’t know much about ACCA so I won’t be able to advise you on that. However If I were you, I might have gone for MBA primarily because of the reason it opens a chance to join a wider field of industries (sales, marketing, HR etc) whereas with ACCA you will be restricted to a certain field.

    Its a difficult decision.
I have seen many people who have done MBA from mediocre universities in Pakistan and have gone abroad to find out that their degrees are worthless there.
You should do MBA from a reputed university if you plan to pursue it. For that you need a few years of job experience. I really do not know if you have any job experience or not.

Advantage of doing ACCA here (which can be transferred) is that it will be recognized everywhere in the world.
For MBA, even if you do it from a good university in Pakistan, it may still not be recognized abroad.

Are you planning to stay indefinitely abroad? How many years do you have till you go abroad and which country? How many years of experience do you currently have?

If you can answer the above questions, then we might be in a better place to guide you.

  4. pnk

well u should choose ACCA.,i think u should meet some ACCAs or read some testimonals on acca website or other professional accountants.,

  5. SAAZ

u should join ACcA, now coze itz an international qulification.n u can carry ur ACCA in USA n CANDA, n usually ACCA students get UK visa very easily.
u can do ACCA + MBA by LSBF..check dis out http://www.lsbf.org.uk/programmes/dual/mba-acca.html
n u can do MBA also After ACCA, MBA just reamins for 1 aur 1.5 years Aft ACCA…….. so ACCA got wider varity

  6. pnk

well when one get registered with ACCA.,s/he have option to write 6 months thesis and get degree from Oxford Brookes .,BSC in applied accounting.,isn’t it grt? and if u did MBA then u get exemption from part 1 of ACCA
well ACCA is dominated and fascinating ofcourse., IS HERE ANY ACCA STUDENT?

  7. M Abdullah

Well…the best decision to act on would certainly be ACCA…as ACCA is a field which being an international qualification keeps its worth everywhere..n u need not to worry about the transfer..yes, you can easily switch to another counrty.i.e.USA,etc.

  8. sara

hi …you should definitely join acca if intend to settle abroad in future.its quite recognized n valuable for sure n the way u complete it,its another joy.for MBA its must u do it from unis like lums, iba, cbm, szabist……others r of 2nd catagory even in pak so no chance to be recognized in abroad.i assure u,u ll never b disappointed after joining ACCA but on the condition u r hardworking n ambitious.

i did my matriculation in 2008,i wanted to persue my intermediate studies with commerce as i m much passionate to bcome a CA.but i was told to opt for pre-eng at inter stage n i was told that it would be helpful 4 me for the forthcoming.but i couldnt mould my self wd such typical subjects of science still i havent gave my inter examz but i found inter(pre-ENG) non digestible esp 4 me coz i knw my instinct.n now i just wanna aks that will it matter if i leave my inter n opt 4 CAT/ACCA?will i be able to do ACCA+MBA of (lsbf)as i wouldnt be having my intermediate will i be able to do MBA/CA/CIMA?consequently,having no intermediate certificate, will it make any differnce in professional jobs.plz guide me as i am much distracted n want immediate guidance.

  15. Mariam Azeez

    Saad,

Since you have already started your inter with pre-eng, I would strongly recommend to continue and not to make any U TURN. I agree that having pre-engg in your inter will help you much more in achieving your academic goals. You can go for ACCA/CA after you inter degree. You can do any of the other degrees that you said after your inter degree however not having an inter degree will leave you no where.

    Best of luck

  16. M.Saad

    salam to all,
kindly tell me tht if any is nt haning inter degree, will he be eligible 4 MBA/CIMA/CA after ACCA?

  19. loma

    Hi everybody,

I am also thinking about getting ACCA. I heard about it from a woman in a recruitement agency, did some research and definitively decided to go for it. One of the reasons: almost every senior position that is put on web/agency will require you to have ACCA, ACA, CPA etc. Honestly, I dont remember ever seeing anyone asking for MBA degree so I don’t know which one is better but I think that ACCA would be a right thing to do.

    hi Aman.

I have done MBA from Bharia university. my age 37 ihave experience of 13 years in Hr Training and development in pakistan. Can i be eligible to work in USA… i have a pakistani degree….

IS there any Test from the goverment of usa that i can be eligible to work in usa.

like for a doctor u need to pass usmle.

Advantage of doing ACCA here (which can be transferred) is that it will be recognized everywhere in the world.
For MBA, even if you do it from a good university in Pakistan, it may still not be recognized abroad

  30. Saiqa

Hi there,It totally depends on yoy that what is ur aptitude either ur interest is in Business Management side or u want to persue a career in Accounting. Both degress are in demand all over the world and U cannot prefer one over the other…Ok thats true,ACCA is recognized world over but MBA is a full fledge professional degree proivided if u do it from a well-reputed school be it pakistan or abraod becoz be aware that there are medicore and average type uni’s(more like money maker’s) in U.s and UK as well and u have to look up to the relaible ranking agencies b4 admission..ACCA is good for those ppl who have strong aptitude in Accounts and can handle its rigorous curriculum and do not assume that MBA is any piece of cake,it’s as demanding as ACCA is so just ask urself what is ur interest and only that would make u successful!

Are you sure that you have the facts straight? I have read quite a few articles that contradict what you stated here, so I do not know what to believe.

  59. A.I

hey guys salam..ACCA has a wide scope and scope increases with the time when u get experience.u can get good job around the world specially in europe and middle east..An ACCA with experience is eligible to get admission in MBA anywhere in world, secondly it gives u opportunity to get B.SC Hons degree from Oxford brookes.. as far as MBA of UCP is concern, according to my knowledge UCP awards BBA degree to the pakistani student after passing certain number of ACCA papers.
and someone was talking about the ACCA+MBA of LSBF. This MBA degree is awarded by University of Wales. i m not sure that it is well reputed but i think its reputation will be better than pakistani universities..i m not comparing with LUMS or IBA ,of course these are best universities of Pakistan..
and if u r confused about MBA ,i’ll go with ACCA ,even though ACCA has scope in Pakistan but less than CA but u can do MBA after ACCA so no need to worry about this, like UCP offers 6 months or so MBA prog after ACCA .even if u want to to MBA from any other university u cab get admission on the base of BSc hons degree of oxford brookes as it is recognized world wide and got a very good reputation among u.k universities..
    regards,

  60. abdul weenab

    nabeel

its up to you . but most of the peoples in Pakistan doing MBA in Finance . so no body can decide except you. just do what you want

  61. abdul weenab

for 2 years bachelor degree holder MBA 3.1/2 year & ACCA 2.1/2 TO 3.1/2 Year. MBA fee full course 5 to 6 lakh but ACCA 3 to 3.1/2 lakh. still MBA of PAK noo recognize out side PAKISTAN.ACCA recognized in atleast 170 countries world wide . But as well as the effort is concern little bit more effort require in ACCA.

    The choice is yours.
after ACCA you got paper exemtion of degree like
CA 12 papers , PIPFA ICAEW BSC MBA & much more.

  64. abdul weenab

    safa

sister welcome to ACCA end less possibilities.
its up to you study here R move abroad. tuition fee in abroad is more. i sujjest you study here . BBA haha
ACCA f1-f9 paper qualifed get BBA degree only submitting thesis & BSC hons as well. if you interested in bba get your bba degree just passing 1st 9 papers of acca.but bba like so easier but acca require seriously much much effort.

  65. aaamir

    hi,

    \

  79. abdul weenab

    w/s
Khan after ACCA no need to MBA. ACCA is enough but you can do easily from any University.
    Farhan Sultan
HEC recognised ACCA so all ACCA members get M.com degree 4rm HEC but ACCA is not a piece of CAKE 10 times harder than MBA that’s why Our MBA worthless in abroad.
ACCA members means ACCA qualified + 3 years experience in relavent field.

  80. abdul weenab

    FAizan
go for MBA that’s soutes you.. ACCA is touff . FOR BBA Mba 1.5 years done that ACCA requires more time & more difficult with the passage of time. so I sujjest you MBA….

  82. abdul weenab

but in now a days ACCA students facing problems, jobs related ICAP accounting body of Pakistan change policy so 2 exemptions only for acca students .12 to 2 exemptions strange. scope of ACCA in Pak below 42 %. its up to you if you have PAWA R shifarish then scope is huge otherwiswe just like hmmmmmmmmmmmmm.

  83. Manahil

    hi guys
i am a student of inter and i have just taken admission in FIA for ACCA i want to know are there any bright chances of ACCA in USA because after some years i want to continue my study in USA or JAPAN. so please tell me which country is best for job after doing ACCA (USA or JAPAN).

  84. Khan

@ Abdul Weenab : thanku so much for guiding!
may u answer some more questions of mine : i want to ask that what is difference between ACCA and CA qualification. also tell their scope in Pakistan
    thanks in advance!

  85. abdul weenab

    Manahil
gr8 welcome ACCA family. scope of ACCA outside PAK is gr8 nice choice .Done FIA R jump to ACCA after part qualify (FIA) its up to U.

  86. abdul weenab

    Khan
CA is local accounting body degree ICAP so CA scope is better than ACCA in PAK but less than ACCA outside PAK .Because ACCA now is more than 170 countries . CA is Ratta ACCA is ur professional approach dependent.

  87. Khan

@ Abdul Weenab : may u also tell me the minimum time for completing ACCA and CA. i have read many people’s saying that CA is too long 6-7 years. is it right?

  88. rehana

    ASA:
I HAVE DONE MY B.com now i am doing mba from KIU .kindly share with me the scope of mba in future(3-4year)in BG

  89. abdul weenab

    khan
its up to you seriously. ur hardwork dedication & bla bla.
minimum time require for good student ACCA 2 years & CA 3.5 years. AVG Time for avg student is ACCA 3 years & CA 5 to 6 years.
In acca maximum papers collect in 1 time is 4 & total papers are 14.
In CA maximum appers in 2 modules at 1 time.
no maximum limits some do ca in8 to 10 years & 5 to 6 in ACCA. its up to U. hardworking is the only key to success.

  90. abdul weenab

    rehana
    dear sis,
now MBA for b.comers is 3.5 years most of peoples now not interested in doing MBA because now it is to long & expensive so in future scope is good & we all know that new MBA is equivalent to M.phill according to new policy of HEC so it is good .done MBA. best of luck for ur studies.

  91. Khan

@ Abdul Weenab : thanku so much for answering!
yah sure hardwork is the key to success :)

I have been surfing online more than three hours today, yet I never found any interesting article like yours. It is pretty worth enough for me. In my opinion, if all site owners and bloggers made good content as you did, the net will be a lot more useful than ever before.

mba academic & ACCA is professional qualification its up to what you want to do in future.ACCA is more in worth than our local MBA excluding (IBA LUMS), which means 10 lakh plus & merit & shefarish as well. if you all this go for MBA if not welcome to ACCA endless possibilities.

It is a difficult decision for every youngster coming out of college. But I personally advice that one seeking the right career should not be worried about the end as many ask about the scope etc. Just go for the one that is better for you. the one in which you are interested and above all which you can afford. everything in which you are happy to be at the end is worth doing.

  113. Hassaan

Is it necessary to do B.com before doing acca????

Great I should certainly pronounce, impressed with your site. I had no trouble navigating through all tabs as well as related information ended up being truly easy to do to access. I recently found what I hoped for before you know it in the least. Reasonably unusual. 118. sana

i can do acca after doing b.com?

  119. Sharjil

    Dear Shujaat
it is up to u whether u take both of the task, in my opinion u should complete ur b.com first at least u will get the degree and then u come to ACCA which is a certificate, but don’t leave it completely however after 3papers in ACCA the whole scenario is different.
