How to transfer Credit hours to a reputable university
Assalam-o-alaikum.
I have studied computer science (basically IT) for 2 years at a reputed university of pakistan.I was dropped out unfortunately in the 4th semester due to some personal problems.
Now wht should i go for.
1:Can i get my credits transferred in any good university in pakistan.
2:If i get my credits transferred ,will those only be accepted in the same discipline i.e IT or can it be in BBA etc.
3:A friend told me that it is an HEC rule to complete the graduation degree in a maximum of 6 years.i.e a graduation done in more than 6 years is not acceptable…..IS THIS TRUE??
4:Can a reputed university in Lahore accept my credits.(UET,FAST,COMSATS etc).
5:Where abroad is it possible to get transferred easily and cheaply…Should i try for abroad.(to arrange tht much money will though really be very tough)
please help me out…I need to get this done as early as possible to save my this year.

Here are the answers of your questions:
1. It depends, where did you earn your credit from, for example if you earn the credits at LUMS, you may be able to transfer it to FAST, on the other hand if you have earned your credits at some C grade university, it would be really difficult to transfer. But, at least try
2.Again, it depends on what courses you have taken, if you have taken general courses like discrete maths, differential equations, statistics, Islamic studies, then you should be able to transfer it to any other program, but if the courses were core courses of your discipline, you might not be able to transfer it. for example, if you have taken C++ in BSIT, you may not be able to transfer it to BBA in marketing
3. HEC rule is for the same university. so you are good
4. It depends from where you have earned your credits
5. Yes, you can transfer your credits to foreign univeristy too, but it would be really expensive to go to US and self finance yourself
If you take my advise, please complete your degree and then apply for MS/PhD scholarship abroad

U are very right in ur response.Telling u the truth i was in NUST.But i am still confused abt point 2.Normally in the first 2 semesters there are general subjects(may be 1 or 2 major),so if i opt for a change in the program,it should be possible.I asked 2 friends of mine and they told tht they know some one who transferred his credits and also changed the discipline(in COMSATS).
Again if u could help me a bit more and tell wht are the universities i should apply for(in LAHORE),and if possible could i get a need based scholorship too.
