Hello !
I have done BS in Electronic Engineering from Sir Syed University of Engineering and Technology and I am really confused whether to do MS or MBA next. I know most people suggest that one should first get a job experience of at least 2 or 3 years but the problem is I am yet to find a job related to my field and of my interest. At present I am doing an entry level job of IT Assistant(not interested in IT) in a private firm actually it is more of an NGO. My search for a better job has remained futile and I am feeling that I am just wasting time and not gaining anything from my job. That’s why I am thinking its better to resume my education. My only worry is that after doing my MBA I may have a Masters degree but I won’t have any experience and it won’t be easy to get a job in an MNC or a Bank . The flip side is that, I think that an MS degree won’t help me at all unless its from a foreign university. In Pakistan there is no Electronic Industry and the only job for electronic engineers are in either heavy industry(in which I am least interested) or telecom sector and to an extent IT field ! They say if you want to remain on the technical side you should do MS and for the management side do MBA. What I want to know is that which will be a better degree MBA or MS in comparison, for me to get a job much faster and also earn me a good salary and help me move up the ladder ! Your help will be greatly appreciated.

It mainly depends on your interest. If you are interested in technical side go for MS and if you are interested in management/banks, etc go for MBA. But most important thing for any degree is to select an excellent university because it really helps to get a good job easily.
Trust me now days in Pakistan MS from foriegn university are not treated very specially. So main thing for you is to identify your area of interest and please never get into any field to gain useless experience which not matches your interest and education.
Job is really a matter of luck also…I have got job in 4 weeks of completing my degree in business administration, but my brother who holds MS from a foreign university got job in 6months. But finally we both managed to get good jobs…so dude alwayz keep on trying…

what matters most is your internal satisfaction. The same question was also creating problems for me but now im doing part time MS and job as well.If you go for Ms,you have a nice chance to do phd and be a part of visiting faculty in pakistan university accompanied with a job .After MBA ,you need to wait for your turn in field to get promoted.but still if you want to do mba,go for lums or atleast lse or iba karchi. It useless to waste time and money for mba from other unversities.Regarding MS or phd,you can select uet or nust
hows MBA from NUST???
I am also facing the same problem.
