LUMS SSE or MBBS
I have got admission in LUMS SSE this year. I have been granted an NOP scholarship. People around me tell me that it is madness to prefer a fundamental sciences education over MBBS because of job prospects. Now tell me, whether it is better to do BS from LUMS SSE or do MBBS from some government medical college in Punjab or NWFP? What are the job prospects after SSE education?
Since I did my FSc as a pre-med, I did not study Mathematics at this level. The curriculum of LUMS SSE contains Calculus durind freshman year. Do you think as a student there, I would be able to cope with the situation?

Job Prospects after LUMS SSE are great. Just make sure that you get the best out of LUMS education and keep your GPA high.
MBBS on the other hand is a lot of hard work for several years (8-9 years) and the reward may not be that great. Whereas LUMS SSE – if done properly – you can land in your dream job after 4-5 years.
I would suggest to go ahead with LUMS SSE and give it your best shot. Stop worrying about what people around are saying. If you like what you do – you will end up making your own way.
Calculus is not hard. If you have been able to get into LUMS SSE – that means you have all the pre-requisite to survive and be great at LUMS.
you wont be the only one without the required math background. the calculus curriculum is designed for students like you and they employ teaching assistants besides the professors for students like you.
getting admitted is the hardest part in sse, once you’re in, its definitely the place to be in pakistan

Im stuck in the same situation. My father keeps telling me If u want to become a doctor u should try for a med school. I did apply to AKU, i am stil waiting for the result.its not going to come out until september. And the lums ppl are asking me to pay the fees. I dont know what to do. Aku and Lums both cost alot..and i have to put down my foot on either side. ..
I need Help.
Oh one more thing is, it is unlikely i will be doing engineering. Probably Bs in Biology.
you people mean it is useless to apply to AKU and LUMS SSE at the same time?
