MBA Future Leader Scholarship, BSL Switzerland



The 2009 BSL Future Leader Scholarship is open worldwide, to all the candidates who meet the admissions requirements for a BSL MBA program.

Eligibility

Candidates must have either a bachelor’s degree in business, or in a business related area, from a recognized university or institution OR significant work experience (for professionals over 30 years of age). Candidates with a bachelor’s degree in another field are eligible to apply but, if selected, must complete BSL’s prerequisite courses. Working professionals with careers focused exclusively on one area of business are eligible to apply but, if selected, must complete BSL’s prerequisite courses.

In addition, eligible candidates must have three years of professional work experience, including management experience (defined as having managed people or a project), be fluent in English at a TOEFL level of 550 or equivalent, and provide BSL with an up-to-date CV/resume.

The scholarship contest is open worldwide. Candidates residing outside of Switzerland, or of another nationality, are eligible to participate, but must be able to legally study in Switzerland and will be required to obtain the necessary study VISA. The scholarship includes all tuition and administration expenses at BSL, but does not include travel expenses to and from, or accommodation during the program.

Current employees of BSL and its related companies and members of their immediate families (defined as spouse, parents, siblings and children) and persons residing at the same address are not eligible to win.

How to Apply

To apply candidates must submit a complete scholarship application along with their essay, by email or mail, no later than July 31, 2009. Limit one (1) application per person. Application must include name and contact information, background details, and an original, previously unpublished written response to the scholarship topic, “How you will use a BSL MBA to achieve your professional vision(s).” The essay response must be written in English, with correct spelling and grammar, and it must consist of between 2000 and 2500 words. No substitutions of new drafts or corrected pages will be accepted once you have submitted your original Application. Written responses that are offensive or
objectionable will be disqualified. All applications become the property of BSL and will not be returned. BSL assumes no responsibility for lost, late, misdirected entries. By submitting an application, you fully and unconditionally accept and agree to these Official Rules.

Selection of a Winner

BSL is looking for eligible applicants who submit Applications that are wellwritten and clearly address the topic. The essays will be judged by business executives, including the CEO of Siemens, Siegfried Gerlach, and JP Morgan Chairman of the Board, Benoit Dumont. The official winner will be announced during the month of September.

BSL reserves the right to discontinue the scholarship, if it does not receive a sufficient number of eligible and qualified applications. The official winner will be contacted in person and his/her name will be posted on the BSL website. The decision of the selected winner is final and may not be contested.

Scholarship Award

The official winner will receive a full scholarship to one of BSL’s three MBA programs. The winner may choose whether he/she wishes to take an Executive MBA, Full-time MBA or Flex-MBA program. The scholarship prize will be awarded in the form of a certificate and is not cashtransferable under any circumstances. The certificate is recognized exclusively as credit towards a BSL MBA degree and must be used on or before 12/31/2012. The scholarship certificate may not be assigned, transferred, or changed, except at the sole discretion of BSL. No cash equivalent prizes will be awarded. The awarding of the Future Leader Scholarship is contingent upon full compliance with these
Official Rules.
