The proceeds of the sales of the Korean Christian Institute established by President Syng-Man Rhee and donations from Korean immigrants in Hawaii helped the Korean government finance the construction of Inha. Inha came from Incheon andHawaii and was established as Inha Institute of Technology by the Presidential Decree.
So, in 1954, Inha Institute of Technology was established by the Presidential Decree and became Inha University in 1972. Currently Inha University has 11 colleges, 2 schools, 9 Graduate Schools and a hospital. Since 1968, Inha University has been led by Hanjin group along with Korean Air and Hanjin Shipping.
