Ritsumeikan Asia Pacific University offer of Scholarships


Ritsumeikan Asia Pacific University has offered scholarships for foreign students including students from Pakistan. Applicants who meet certain requirements can apply for the scholarships listed below for enrollment from September 2012 to September 2014. Please read the information contained in these pages carefully and apply for the appropriate scholarship(s).

Admissions Requirements 

When reviewing applications, the university’s Admissions Committee considers past academic performance, work and life experience, intellectual ability and other non-quantifiable qualities, such as motivation, self-confidence, leadership, and the ability to cooperate with others. Any kind of professional or extracurricular leadership experience, especially if international in nature, is highly regarded.

To be eligible to apply for our Master’s program you should have the following three requirements:

1. Educational Requirements

Applicants must have a bachelor’s degree or the equivalent from a university accredited by the national government of the country in which it was obtained. However, eligibility also depends on the number of years of formal education
required to gain a bachelor’s degree in the country where you completed your bachelor’s degree program.

* 16 years: Eligible to apply

* 15 years: May be eligible if over 22 years of age and you fulfi ll one of the
following conditions

i. One year or more of additional research experience at an
academic institution after receiving your bachelor’s degree.
An official letter attesting to the additional academic research
experience is required.

ii. Academic achievement is determined to be outstanding by the
APU Admissions Assessment Committee

* 14 years: May be eligible if over 22 years of age. Applications in this case will
be subjected to special screening to determine eligibility. Only
applicants who are deemed to be outstanding will be granted
admission.

2. Language Profiency Requirement

As English is the language of instruction in all graduate classes at APU, applicants must possess the ability to comprehend lectures, undertake independent research and produce well written reports in English.

English Language Requirement:

All applicants whose native language is not English must submit one of the following (The results are valid for two years from the test date. Expired scores will not be accepted):

TOEFL® Official Score Report – iBT 80 points or above / PBT 550 points or above
IELTS (Academic) Test Report Form – 6.5 or above
TOEIC® Official Score Report – 730 points or above

It is recommended that applicants request the test center to send the score reports directly to APU. For this purpose, APU’s institution code is 2791. “Institutional” test results from institutions other than Ritsumeikan will not be accepted.

* English Language Exemption

Only those applicants who can certify that they have been educated exclusively in English for at least six years of their formal education from high school level or above can be exempt from the English language requirement. Clear documented proof must be included with the application, and it may be in the form of an official letter from the institution or any other official document such as a transcript indicating the language of instruction. Applicants who do not meet the above requirements will not be considered and no exceptions will be made.

3. Program-Specific Requirement

MBA application requirements: 

MBA applicants must have at least one of the following:

* Solid full time work experience of at least two years, preferably related to your desired major

* A satisfactory GMAT® score

PhD application requirements:

PhD applicants are required to have the following:

* Completed a Master’s degree or equivalent from a recognized institution

* Undergo Pre-Screening
