Application Engineer
Job Purpose :
Implement solutions (Application Server, Databases, Middleware and Messaging Platforms) for customer and EHDF internal projects through support operations on 3rd Level and efficient problem management aligned to standard operating procedures and policies to ensure achievement of department goals that ensures profitability to the business.
Principal Accountabilities/Key Results Area :
Design and Implement applications (Application Server, Databases, Middleware and Messaging Platforms) aligned to defined standards and policies to achieve and ensure work order completion meeting customer specification and requirements
Participate in assigned projects through prioritizing tasks in line with project requirements through provision of 3rd Level Support and Problem Management for application related issues.
Work closely with other engineers to integrate various technologies while documenting codes to help the team grow its capabilities.
Communicate with Project Manager and PS during all phases of projects to escalate concerns and disseminate timely information and update on project status.
Ensure documentation of technical implementation and carry out the planning and testing of changes in customer’s systems infrastructure.
Research & carry out evaluation of new products and assist in the development and maintenance to develop EHDF Lab environment.
Provide inputs to quality directives and ensure effective implementation of quality procedures in all operations as per defined guidelines.
Evaluate, troubleshoot, document, upgrade and build up maintenance procedures for operating systems, server, virtual environments and software
Supports administration of servers and server clusters
Minimum Qualification:
Qualification: B. Sc. in Computer Science desirable.
Certifications: As many of the following:
o PHP, ASP, .NET, SQL
o Oracle, MySQL, SQLServer, DB2
o Apache, Websphere, Tomcat, Citrix, Exchange, iPlanet, RSA
o Microsoft Exchange Server, Lotus Notes Server
o SharePoint Portal Server
