In Canada, the average total tuition cost for a Master of Business Administration (MBA) program for international students is $30,435-$31,856. Perhaps not surprisingly, as with the fees for Canadian students, the tendency is for the largest and most prestigious institutions to have tuition that is over the national average. However, somewhat of a surprise may be that HEC Montreal and the Schulich School of Business at York University, which are often grouped among Canada’s, and often the world’s, elite schools by reputable sources like BusinessWeek and the Financial Times, and many major employers have tuition fees that fall below the national average for MBAs. Except for Lansbridge University, Queen’s University, and Simon Fraser University, all tuition fees for international students are higher than those for Canadian students.

Which universities in the US are likely to give full/partial funding for a MBA?
I do not intend to apply for the Fulbright because that funding comes with too many strings attached.
I was curious about which top 50 universities in the USA are likely to provide funding for MBA students with very high GMAT scores (700+)?
I know that Brigham Young University is one such university. Do you guys know any others?

MBA from London Metropolitan University or MA in Finance from Nottingham University
Dear Sir,
This is Mansoor Lakhany here from Karachi. I’ve almost 2.5 years of job experience and I did my MBA (Finance) from the Bahria University in the year 2005.
Lots of students are getting good and satisfactory responses from the members of this forum, therefore, I also decided to ask or get some advice on one confusion puzzle:) ?
I’ve applied for the MBA in some of the good UK universities. By the grace of Allah, I’ve got an offer from Londonmet (London Metropolitan University) for the MBA and an offer for MA in Finance and Investment from the Nottingham University Business School. I also have an offer for MSc in Finance from NewCastle University Business School. I’m confused now, what to do?
I’ve an only offer for MBA from Londonment. There are so many advices, some are saying that doing an MBA from Londonment is not that worthwile than doing an MA from Nottingham. Some says Newcastle is good for accomodation and all. I would like to know from your experiences that either Londonmet MBA is good as far the career prospects are concerned or MA from Nottingham is good? Or Msc from Newcastle is good?
Please compare them from your experiences or from your good exposure in the International phenomenon.
Takecare — Bye.

Is MBA from Sweden worth it?
Hi,
Many people who have financial problem go to Sweden for masters as it is free of cost and there is no tuition fee.
Is it worth it? What are the future prospects with MBA from sweden?
Which universities are good?
Should I go for an MBA or PhD?
My career path is as follows
- I have done my BS in Computer Software Engineering – 4 years degree from a reputed top Pakistani University. – GIKI. I am working for 1/2 an year as Software Engineer & Team Lead now at a Software house in Islamabad.
Team lead involves management as well, so i am thinking of pursuing MBA (probably MBA- IT) now along with job from NUST (as it’s close to my work place). I can do MS (CSE) as well from the same institution and pursue PHD. Later on and adopt teaching field as a career.
I am confused between the two. An year back I was never ever considering MBA as an option but now in the industry i feel that MBA can give me a jump in the corporate ladder.
One reason of MBA is also that i don’t like my field very (truly speaking) and i am always thinking of plans of smooth shift to some other field without any harm to my career. Other one is that i don’t see large multinational companies in software field here in Pakistan. All we have at many places is some people having 5-6 computers in a room and start a company which get’s closed down in less than 2 years (that is the upper limit as well
)
What do you think that i should go for? and where i will end up in these fields. Will appreciate your sincere comments… thanks.
recommendation letter for self-employed candidate
I am planning to apply for an MBA from UK.
During my entire professional career, I have either worked for myself or for my family business. In that scenario, what/who is the best person to get the letter of recommendation from? I can manage the academic reference from my university but I am confused about the recommendation from work.
Thanks in advance.

MBA from UK or LUMS ?
I have just read the post regarding moving back to Pakistan, which provides a very good starting point. I’m in a similar position and have been thinking about the moving back to Pakistan for sometime.
The main driver for the move is coming back to my parents. I have a successful career here and am doing very well but just find that something is missing and would also like to contribute positively to Pakistan.
So i want my move to really work and am willing to give it all.
I graduated from the University of London and have been working in satellite communication for the last 5 years. I don’t know what Pakistan has to offer on that front so i am now thinking of starting something myself and also study when i get back to Pakistan.
I have decided on doing an MBA from LUMS to help diversify a bit and secondly ease myself back into the system as i have been away for quite a few years.
Is LUMS a good option to do my MBA from as i am planning to move back and stay there i don’t see the point in doing an MBA from the UK as the LUMS one is more tailored for Pakistan and has a very good reputation. Plus i might learn a bit about business as currently i work more on the technical side.
Or should i be thinking of doing an MBA from the UK and then come back? What should i do, i’m personally more inclined to go to LUMS as i can move sooner.
How should i approach this?
Thanks
Daanish
I want to do MBA from UK on Scholarship
I graduated from FAST-NU in June 2003. I did my BS-CS from there. I secured a GPA of 2.9 there. I have pretty good communication skills too. At present I am working for a software house of a multinational company. I have a 1 year experience.
Now, i want to go for an MBA in UK. Here are my requirements and what i am looking for. Please help me in this regard.
Requirements:
=============
1. 1 year study within London, preferably high ranked universities like Oxford, UCL, Cambridge, LSE etc.
2. I need a full scholarship for it that especially covers my tuition fee, it may or may not include my accommodation and transport. But tuition fee is a must.
3. Most importantly, i want to get a scholarship before i get admitted. I do not want to go through the entire procedure of getting admitted into a university and finally getting an admission and in the end not getting the scholarship. e.g. The Rhodes Scholarship is signed before the admission so i want details for such scholarships.
3.The study program should start by January 2009 or at max no later than August/September 2009.
Please help me on what procedure i should follow for this, which scholarships i should apply for, which universities would best suit me and any more fruitful information in this regard.
Thank you.
Getting into Business School
Hi,
My name is Shahrukh from The Lyceum School and I’m currently in my A-levels first year. I got 7A’s and 2B’s in my O’levels. Currently,I have Accounts, Economics, Mathematics and General Paper as my subjects. I am appearing for Mathematics and Economics AS level this june. I intend to do MBA or Masters in Economics(M.E) which leads us to our first question whether MBA or M.E has a better scope in Pakistan and abroad?
I, like many others aspire to get enrolled in a good and reputed university abroad. However, more than half way through my A-Level first year i realized that my subject combination isnt good enough to get me into good universities abroad like LSE which does not give importance to Accounts and demands traditional sciences like Psychology so now i am in a fix. Are there any other renowned universities abroad which offer MBA or M.E and accept students having the subject combo that i have?
If there are such universities, then what is there criteria for scholarships ?
Also, do all reputed business schools in the U.S require SAT II or is SAT I good enough for admissions? What is the average SAT score that such business schools demand?
