Phd Scholarships in Economics

Candidates are invited to submit their Pre-Application for admission to the PhD Program in Public Economics offered by the DEFAP, the Graduate School in Public Economics of Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore and Università di Milano-Bicocca. The duration of the PhD Program is three years.

Selection Procedure

The selection procedure for admission to the Program, aiming to ascertain candidates’ knowledge, ability and aptitude for scientific research in subjects related to the School, is based on academic merits. No more than 10 candidates are admitted to the Program. Seven scholarships are assigned on academic merits to the candidates admitted to the Program. Each scholarship is for about € 13.600 gross per year. The study grant is increased by 50% per month (for a maximum of eighteen months) for time spent by the student at one of the partner institutions abroad.

PhD Scholarships in Computer Science for non-EU overseas applicants in 2010/11, Manchester University, UK

The School is able to offer six ‘School-ORS’ fees contribution scholarships to suitably qualified international PhD students who are able to start in September 2010 or, in some cases, earlier. The criteria are academic qualifications, supporting statements from referees familiar with the demands of academic research and the quality of a ‘research proposal’ and personal statement. The scholarships will pay a contribution to the full fee each year over 3 years (approximately 75% of the full fee) with a commitment to undertake about 90 hours of teaching or demonstrating. The University cannot make any contribution towards living expenses, nor any further contribution towards fees, and must be satisfied that the applicant has sufficient external funding to support the required three years of study.
